Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for translating demand plans into supply plans. Support demand planning by ensuring strong in-stock and service level through maintaining inventory levels, safety stock parameters, and lead times for component or finished good inventory. Responsible for working with internal and external partners to translate supply plan into purchase order/work order workload. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and follow-up with suppliers, operations and warehousing regarding late orders, material outages, and/or special projects
• Manage purchase order/work order size based on service commitments, existing inventory on hand, and lead times. Manage lead times to drive operational efficiency and improve service
• Communicate and escalate to team members when potential supply issues arise.
• Create ad hoc reports to assist in identifying potential issues.
• Materials: execute materials planning and expedite process for raw and packaging materials as well as repacking materials, where applicable; facilitate inventory record accuracy; receive all materials and ensure all materials are in the plant as the demand plan requires while maintaining low levels of inventory; manage the transition of materials as necessary.
• Work closely with the supplier base closely by resolving issues to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance is achieved.
• Act as an escalation point for material concerns, lead shortage meetings w/suppliers and stakeholders to ensure supply continuity, report on KPIs (inventory days on hand, line interruptions, expedite costs, etc.), and enforce best practices.
• Monitor supply and demand misalignment and collaborate with manufacturing sources to implement corrective action plans.

Duties and Tasks 

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment, analysis, and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Serves as a liaison with internal and/or external contacts. Work requires meeting performance deadlines and being exact or highly accurate; requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams and working with others in a group or team.

Requirements

Computer Skills: 

The ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internal software programs), with advanced presentation skills and the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets. Prior experience with ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.) is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred. (Supply Chain or Business preferred). 2 years’ experience in Sourcing, Production and Material Planning. CPDW (Certified Professional in Distribution and Warehousing) is a plus, but not required.
